Dog Lovers has been offering clipping and grooming services to the Blackburn and surrounding areas since 1991. In January 2007 Trish Attard and Paul Ward took over the business and have developed it into the salon you see today.
This year, we have extended our services to include dog walking, dog training, pet feeding and pet transport.
Having completed her certificate IV in Companion Animal Services - Dog Grooming at Box Hill Institute in 2008, Trish now has an extensive knowledge of grooming breed specific dogs and is also able to advise you on a wide range of topics including grooming tips, flea and pest control, solutions for skin and hair conditions, and new styles for your pet.
Paul is currently completing his Certificate III in Dog Behaviour and Training with NDTF (National Dog Trainers Federation). Australia’s only government accredited, nationally recognised, dog trainer certification course.
Our love of animals goes beyond the business. Having 4 dogs and a cat of our own we understand the importance of choosing the right person to entrust our "fur kids".
We've been training and competing in obedience, agility and tracking with our dogs since 1994 when we got our first dog together, a Beagle! We belong to a number of dog clubs and associations and volunteer as instructors in the evening and Sundays.
Trish and Paul both successfully compete in Agility with two of their dogs, Holly Golightly (a Kelpie) and Kira Bella (a Moodle) on weekends. In 2006, Paul and Holly won the title of “Top Jumping Dog” in Victoria and in 2007, Trish and Holly came 2nd in “Top Agility Dog”.
This experience in dog handling enables us to look after your pets in a positive and caring manner.
